Psychotherapy

“Whatever has happened, whatever is going to happen in the world, it is the living moment that contains the sum of the excitement, this moment in which we touch life and all the energy of the past and future.”

- Muriel Rukeyser

Where should we begin?

Who might you be if you accepted yourself as you are in this moment, today? Many people turn to therapy because of a specific set of symptoms or problems such as depression, anxiety, reckless impulsivity, or grief. Others feel stuck in unfulfilling relationships, aimless in their careers, or dazed and disconnected from staring at screens all day. And still others begin treatment for reasons that they cannot name or may still be unformed, and follow their own sense of readiness for meaningful exploration. There is no one right reason nor one right outcome. The work is to understand what brings each person into the therapeutic space and all the contexts that move them through life. Together, we will create a working partnership that fosters self understanding, relief from shame, and a restored vitality.

How we tend to relationships is at the center of any healing process.

I practice primarily from Relational psychoanalytic perspective, a more interpersonally and "here and now" grounded kind of therapy. What this means is I will pay special attention to our mutually co-created experience together while also exploring your history and day-to-day life. I am guided by the belief that how we tend to relationships is at the center of any healing process.

I meet with patients once or twice weekly, depending on what is best for your circumstances. A sliding fee scale is available based on financial need.
